Hello! I am Madoka.
Thank you for coming on this page.
I am very happy to have this chance to inform you about Japan.
My English and sentences probably be wrong, please be fast and loose. ( ^v^)/
And I appreciate you for giving the opportunity of my English practice.
Today I will introduce the flow of praying at a shrine .
The flow of praying at a shrine
Step1 : Go to a shrine
Step2 : Make one formal bow at a 90-degree angle at every “Torii“.

At that time, please avoid standing up in the center of the path.
Because the center line is for Gods.
Step3 : Purify your body(hands and mouth) at a shrine’s purification trough .
Because you should do away with filth and purify before praying to Gods.

Washing tunes are “Left hand => Right hand” => ”Mouth” => ”Left hand” => ”The ladle”.
Next is how to purify in detailed.
1: Hold the ladle in your right hand, and scoop water into the ladle
2: Pour it over your left hand
3: Hold the ladle in your left hand, and scoop water into the ladle
4: Wash your right hand clean
5: Make a cup by you left hand
6: Fill it with water from the ladle to sip and purify your mouth
7: Wash your left hand clean again
8: Hold the ladle vertically , the remaining water runs down the handle to clean the ladle itself.
Keep mind , Don’t walk on the center of the approach to the sanctuary.
It is a path for the God.
Step4: Go in front of offertory box and toss money into box.

You can stand the center up in front of offertory box.
Step5: Ring a bell.

Step6: Please pray with the below manner.
1 : Make two formal bows at a 90-degree angle.
2 : Clap two times.
3 : Pray and make a wish.
4 : Make one more formal bow at a 90-degree angle.
Done !
If you want to get a red ink stamp, you should do after praying.

Thank you for reading until the end.
Have a good day !
