On the last article, I introduced on the New Yea Event in Japan,_ The Seven Deities of Good Fortune Tour( “Shichi fuku jin Meguri“in Japanese).

Today, I will introduce a “Shichi Fuku Jin Meguri” in Kamakura.

1, The Route of “Shichi Fuku Jin Meguri “ in Kamakura

This is one of recommendation route.

Visiting turns aren’t decided. You can go as you like.

In this route, You will walk for  5km.
It  takes about 3-4hours.
And you have to pay the entrance fee in some temple.

Let’s Start from Kita-kamakura station(JR line)

Walk in 5-10 minutes

Jochi-ji Temple
1402 Yamanouchi ,Kamakura city

Hotei is enshrined.

The god of happiness, contentment and good fortune.

Walk in 15-20 minutes

Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gu Shrine
2-1-31 Yukinoshita, Kamakura city

Benzeiten is enshrined.

The Goddess of financial fortune, music and art.

Walk in 5-10 minutes.

Houkai-ji Temple
3-5-22 Komachi, Kamakura city

Bishamonten is enshrined.
The God of war and victory

Walk in 5-10 minutes

MyoRyu-ji Temple
2-17-20 Komachi, Kamakura city

Juroujin is enshrined.
The god of longevity

Walk in 5-10 minutes.

Honkaku-ji Temple
1-12-12 Komachi, Kamakura city

Ebis is enshrined.
The god of success in business

Walk in 20-30 minutes

Hase -ji Temple
3-11-2 Hase, Kamakura city

Daikoku is enshrined.
The God of commerce, agriculture and prosperity

Walk in 5-10 min.

Goryo-jinja Shrine
4-9 Sakanoshita, Kamakura city

Fukurokuju is enshrined.
The god of wisdom, luck and longevity

Walk in 5-10 minutes

Get to Hase station( Enoden line)

2, The stamp book

You can collect the red ink stamp of each temple and shrine.

You need pay 300-400 JP yen to get a stamp.

The stamp is pressed on paper that you like.

If you like, you can buy a stamp book in any temple and shrine.

The stamp book costs more than 800 JP yen.

Below’s image is a dedicated stamp sheet for”Shichi Fuku Jin Meguri“.

“Shichi Fuku Meguri” is a traditional new year’s event for us.

But you can try it anytime in a year.
